This selection of Inverted Screw Grommets differs from standard screw grommets in that the split in the nut is at the end where the screw is inserted. This split allows the grommet to be easily inserted into a panel. Screw Grommets are also known as Captive Nuts or Lokut Nuts. The application of a self-tapping screw into the grommet ensures that the component is held firmly in place after use. The Inverted Screw Grommet snaps into various panel thicknesses and with a suitable screw, enables panels or components to be securely fastened.
They can differ slightly in appearance from the images shown, depending on type, but all have an open end allowing the end of long screws to pass through.
Screw sizes are shown in the table in both imperial and metric (ST) form.
As with other types of Screw Grommet, applications can be found in a very wide variety of industries where a screw thread is required in a panel (that is often a steel panel).
