Thumb Locks also known as Locking Straps is a system of a strap and a buckle designed to secure equipment during transit. These Thumb Locks / Locking Straps have Self-Adhesive Bases and are widely used on boats, caravans and motorhomes. For added security, the self-adhesive base is also available with a choice of fixing holes to allow it to be screwed in place. An adhesive base is attached to the piece of equipment, whilst another base is attached to a secure surface. The Locking Strap is fed between the two bases which are then closed shut, fixing the equipment into position.
Thumb Locks can easily be re-opened when equipment needs to be moved. Straps are available in 100ft (30.5m) rolls but can be cut to size depending on order quantities. They are typically used in caravans, motorhomes, and boats to secure electrical appliances, fuel tanks, storage containers, boarding ladders, fishing rods, marine electronics, ropes, doors and hatches.
