Craig gets a Career Lift

Craig Sheppard has been promoted to Acting Assistant Warehouse Manager at a crucial time for JET PRESS. Coping with COVID and preparing for Brexit has created plenty of extra work for the Warehouse team and Craig is playing a key role.

Craig joined the team in June 2003, as a warehouse operative in the Components Direct part of the business. Recalling his first day Craig said “I was very excited and nervous about starting a new job but everybody made me feel very welcome.”

Changing times

When Craig joined, Components Direct was a separate business with a warehouse in a building across the road from JET PRESS. In 2007 the operations were merged in a new extended warehouse. Bringing all the stock and systems together was a major challenge.

Huge growth in JET PRESS turnover has been a feature of Craig’s time with us. More recently there have been changes in the company leadership and management team and Craig is looking forward to positive developments.

Teamwork

Craig describes his role as “Making sure everyone gets on and gets on with the job so we can get it right for the customer”. In recent weeks there were - very unusually for JET PRESS - three people from the warehouse team absent. “Everyone rallied round and got stuck in, so we made it work” said Craig. “I like it all. The picking and packing and the other aspects of the job. But mainly it’s the people I like. They’re all hard working and they all pull together.”

When he’s away from work Craig likes to relax and chill with the family. But he often finds himself working on DIY projects.
