We worked with Germany based ‘Damageavoidance.com’ to provide them with a simple yet necessary solution that ensures the reliability of their fire prevention services. Our client provides an open IOT Platform Service for data visualisation and alerting. With the platform, companies are able to rollout use cases like fire prevention, damage avoidance, etc. on demand. Our client has been in this industry for 5 years.
The platform

No programming, no app, just plug and play. The client’s software is highly scalable. Available anytime and anywhere, on a smartphone, as well on a tablet or laptop.
The challenge
Use case: damageavoidance.com – Preventing fires instead of extinguishing them
‘Many customers use our platform to reduce their fire risks. Instead of reporting fires when it is already too late, our customers receive information at the first deviations, long before there would be a fire. For this purpose, wireless sensors are installed at critical locations, such as chargers, switch cabinets, shaft bearings, electric motors, which send their data to our platform DAPONA.com 24 hours a day. DAPONA records histories, triggering messages long before any damage would occur. This significantly reduces the risk of damage without the need to buy another system.’
The issue
It is crucial that the temperature probes of the sensors are reliably connected to the surface to be measured, as incorrect values would be measured if the probes were loosened. The client needed a simple yet effective method that would keep temperature probes tightened and connected thus, giving the correct values.
The solution and results
We worked very closely with the client to ensure that their specific requirements were met. This section highlights our processes and how we were able to help the client meet their desired goals.
After speaking with the client, they confirmed that they “found a simple and highly reliable solution with a small
JET PRESS fastener which proved to be highly significant to the reliability of our use case”.
Our challenge was to find a product suitable to match the requirements of the client’s application.
Our in-house manufactured Cable Edge Clips were used to keep the temperature probes tightly fitted and consequently record accurate values. These clips can be used across a wide range of panel thicknesses and are simple yet versatile. The heavy duty cable edge clips are also very easy to install without the need of specialised equipment.
The sampling process
At JET PRESS, we offer free samples to ensure you find the right products that fit your requirements. In this particular case, our expert technical team identified a range of products which may have been suitable for the application, several samples were sent out to ensure fit for function.
Ultimately, the JET PRESS Cable Edge Clips were highly reliable and offered a solution that saw direct results. As shown in the diagram below.
