Getting Our Expertise Closer to the Customer

We have a huge amount of expertise, knowledge and experience in the JET PRESS team. It's important to make sure that all this valuable knowledge is readily available to our customers. So we have moved experienced engineer Martin Belcher into our sales team as Technical Solutions Manager.

Andrew Mitchell, who leads our Sales Team, says “This will provide more direct technical input to our customers with shorter lines of communication. We can deliver more value to our customers when engineers talk directly to engineers.”

Martin was the obvious candidate for the job. Before he joined JET PRESS he worked as an engineer in several organisations. In 2001 Martin was our Applications Engineer, on the road visiting customers and working with design engineers to solve problems. In 2004 he became Technical Manager for JET PRESS.

In this role Martin worked with our suppliers and gained in depth knowledge of a wide range of fasteners. He also pioneered our work with bespoke plastic fasteners. Where there is no off the shelf solution to meet a customer’s requirements, JET PRESS has the expertise in house to design the tooling for a bespoke solution. Then we work with a partner to manufacture the injection moulded plastic part.

Martin’s most recent move has brought him back in contact with Design Engineers. Recently he has worked with customers on projects as varied as plastic inserts for keys, insulation for car engines and innovative energy producing roof tiles. By working closely with the sales team he is sharing his knowledge and expertise with them as part of their personal professional development.
